Andi Weimann’s fine season for Bristol City last term has been recognised on FIFA 23 with the Austrian international alongside Dan Bentley as the club’s highest-rated players following the release of the new database.
Weimann scored 22 goals in 46 games for the Robins in 2021/22 and was named the club's Player of the Season and has been upgraded by three to 73, the same score Bentley was awarded in last year’s version, with the City goalkeeper and captain keeping that rating.
That duo are followed by summer arrival Kal Naismith, Tomas Kalas and Timm Klose on 71, followed by Joe Williams and Antoine Semenyo on 70, with the latter earning a two-point boost after his fine second half to 2022/23.
Alex Scott’s gain of eight from 59 to 67 is the largest among the City squad, something which is likely to be an annual occurrence as he continues his seemingly inevitable progress towards the Premier League. Kane Wilson’s outstanding campaign for Forest Green has also seen him gain five from 62 to 67.
The ratings are effectively based on performances last season, with Jay Dasilva rather cruelly downgraded by one and Nahki Wells by two, after a campaign spent largely on the bench for the latter. Those two have since been very much integral parts of Nigel Pearson’s squad this term, with the Bermudian arguably City’s best player.
Unfortunately for Wells and Dasilva, the ratings are fixed in Ultimate Team for the next 12 months but the Career Mode ratings - which are to be released on September 27 - are subject to change over the course of the campaign as they’re designed to mirror real-life form.
Chris Martin will also likely take umbrage with the game’s developers, as he did last year when claiming his pace was far too low. The veteran has been given just 34 pace, but he’s not the slowest in the squad as that particular award goes to Klose with 32.
FIFA 23 is released on September 30, the final edition of the game under the EA Sports brand. You can see the list of the full ratings below via FUTBIN …
