Bristol's Anton Haskins says he hopes 2022 will see him be busier than ever as he looks towards his fourth professional contest at the end of this month.
Haskins will step back between the ropes on Saturday March 26 in Swindon, on Neilson Boxing’s Fight Town event at the MECA in Regent Circus.
Alongside Haskins is a plethora of talent from the South West, including Sanigar stablemate Aaron Sutton, who will be looking to secure the vacant middleweight Southern Area Title.
Last time out, Haskins topped the bill in Swindon where he improved his record to 3-0 after overcoming Jamie Quinn over four rounds. While the 21-year-old enjoyed the spotlight, he admits 2021 was a little frustrating after he had a number of fights fall through.
“When I heard the announcer say ‘This is the main event’ I went back to my changing room to make sure the rest of my team heard,” he said. “I was meant to have a fight in Chepstow shortly afterwards but it got cancelled the day before because my opponent said he was up all night being sick.
“I don’t mind not fighting, but I do find it embarrassing because I hate letting my fans down, that’s the worst part, I hate having to tell them I’m not fighting.
“I respect my fans for even following me on social media, if they turn up to my fights then that is a bonus but I respect them no matter what.”
