Bristol has been ranked as one of the worst airports in the UK - according to a new study. The travel hub at Lulsgate comes in 15th, in joint last place with Leeds Bradford as the worst place to fly from in 2022.
The ranking of the UK’s best and worst airports was put together by The Daily Telegraph. The study’s authors took the UK’s 16 busiest airports, and looked at everything from the design of the terminals to the wifi connection and the likelihood of delays.
Bristol Airport, which recently won permission at appeal to expand its operations from 10 to 12 million passengers a year, has come under fire in recent weeks as the rush to go abroad, post pandemic, gets underway. Earlier this month airport bosses were forced to apologise after staff shortages caused lengthy queues at check in gates.

Passengers venturing off on their holidays blasted the lengthy queues as a ' shambles '. Photos on social media also showed people queueing out of the door at the airport.
Some passengers described how it took nearly two hours to get from bag drop and through security. Over the Easter break the airport also suffered IT issues which caused huge delays at the check in desks.
The costs of using the airport, including its drop off fees for passengers, have also been branded as ‘exorbitant’ Bristol Airport costs £5 for 10 minutes and up to £20 for 60 minutes.
There are also fines of £100 for anyone found dropping someone off in the wrong area. The best airport in the ranking was London City Airport, praised for its ample number of charging points and that nearly 90 percent of its flights arrived on time.
