NEW DELHI: Union sports minister Anurag Singh Thakur on Wednesday called upon the national sports federations (NSFs) to bring in more transparency and accountability in their functioning to avoid international sanctions and appointments of the court-mandated Committee of Administrators (CoA) to oversee their day-to-day affairs.
Thakur urged the officials of the NSFs to put their interests behind in the larger interest of Indian sports, which has been excelling at the global sporting arena through medal-winning performances at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and other major international meets.
