Ander Herrera has been feeling the love from Manchester United fans once again after a suggestion over his future.
The midfielder became a fans’ favourite during his time at Old Trafford, with his combative style making him unpopular among rivals, but enamouring him to United’s supporters.
Herrera would eventually leave for Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, but his future in the French capital is currently up for discussion after he was touted for a possible return to the Premier League.
According to The Athletic, the 32-year-old was mentioned as a player in contention to be part of a swap deal with Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele.
Herrera though is reportedly happy at PSG, and has indicated he would only want to play for United in England.
And given that response, United fans were quick to call for the Spain international to make a return to Old Trafford.
It’s not the first time Herrera has been linked with a potential return to United, having also been touted for a move back to the Reds last summer.
United have identified their midfield as a priority to strengthen over the next few months, and are likely to dip into the market during the summer.
Herrera though is unlikely to feature, given United’s tendency to struggle even when he was at the club, and his age meaning he would likely just be a short-term fix.
