Large sections of the Chelsea fanbase have reacted to Frank Lampard being sacked by Everton. The Toffees are winless in eight Premier League games this season and sit second from bottom in the relegation zone.
According to a number of publications, the board took the unanimous decision to relieve the former Blues boss of his duties at Goodison Park. Lampard averaged just one point per game as Everton head coach, winning 12, drawing eight and losing 24.
The Merseyside club showed signs of great promise under the 44-year-old's stewardship; a six-game unbeaten streak which included a goalless draw with Liverpool; a pair of 1-0 wins over Chelsea and Manchester United inside a couple of weeks; and a bravely fought 1-1 draw against reigning champions Manchester City.

Lampard's dismissal from his position at Everton is the second time he has been relieved of his duties in January. Former Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich sacked the club's all-time top goal scorer in January 2021 — Thomas Tuchel, his successor, went on to guide the west Londoners to Champions League glory.
While Lampard's time at Stamford Bridge may have ended sourly, many Blues supporters have rallied together and encouraged Todd Boehly to welcome him back to the club. Though, not every Chelsea fan agrees...
So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at some of the reaction around Lampard's future.
@Letter_to_Jack wants Chelsea to appoint the former midfielder as the club's new director of football. They tweeted: "The great Frank Lampard has been sacked by Everton. It’s a shame he wasn’t given enough time to instil his revolutionary ideas in the team. Bring him back to Chelsea as our DoF."
If that were to happen, @Bayonle_LDD believes that Lampard's first port of call would be handing Mason Mount a new contract. The 23-year-old sees his deal at Stamford Bridge expire in 18 months and is said to be demanding an eye-watering wage packet.
They tweeted: "First order of business as DoF would be to give Mount 300k p/w."
With a crying face emoji, @uche_alua tweeted: "Lol so he'll recommend Lewis Hall for the no 10 jersey, and Gallagher as captain?"
@MessigC10 tweeted: "Everton has sacked Lampard. As much as I loved Frank Lampard as a player and his first season with Chelsea as the manager will always be a special memory for me but to succeed in Premier League you have to be a top-level manager. Management is only for some."
@CFCFAN010 tweeted: "Brother should give up and become a pundit and defend Chelsea."
@CFCDaily tweeted: "Azpilicueta kept Lampard up and to say thanks he rejected £60m for Gordon."
Partnered with a picture of Steven Gerrard and Lampard, @TheSecretScout_ tweeted: "Can we come to an agreement, that having a top playing career doesn’t matter when it comes to coaching."
