A clip has gone viral on social media of a man asking Prince Charles a question, who gave a quick-thinking one-line response. His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, met crowds in Victoria Square in Birmingham at the Commonwealth Games festival site ahead of the opening ceremony.
Daniel Walker, from Birmingham, spotted him on Thursday (July 28) night when he was walking to Brindley Place to meet friends for a drink. He was late finishing his shift at E-liquids.com in Bennetts Hill, as he usually finishes at 5pm but could not get away until just before 6pm, reports Birmingham Live.
But the timing was just perfect to allow him to ask Prince Charles if he would join him for a drink. The moment was captured by Andrew Gould who posted the exchange on TikTok.

Mr Walker, 32, said: "I had to stay a bit later at work and left at 5.50pm and was walking to have a beer with friends in Lulu Wild in Brindley Place. I had to walk through Victoria Square to get there and turned right and saw Prince Charles and thought let’s ask him if he want to come for a beer."
In the video, Daniel cheekily asks: "Charles, Charles, are you going to go for a beer?" At first, Prince Charles says 'what?,' but then with a broad grin on his face, said 'where?' and points towards Daniel.
He replies 'anywhere, Albert's Schloss?', which was on the way to his original destination, Lulu Wild. The Prince then replies: "Thank you very much."
Incredibly, that wasn't Daniel's last encounter with the Prince.
Daniel said: "I didn't expect him to respond. When he said 'what' that made me a bit nervous.
"And after he said where and I said Albert's Schloss, 'thank you for the recommendation' I think he said. I walked around and I could see his security guard wanted to speak to me.
"I introduced myself and he said if you hang out here you can chat to him. I waited around five minutes and Prince Charles came over and asked me what I did and shook my hand.
"He said 'good luck with your ventures'. It's changed my view of Prince Charles.
"I thought the Royal Family was stuck up. I am all about laughs and jokes."
Daniel then went to meet his friends in Lulu Wild and they did not believe he had met the future king moments before.
He said: "My mates thought I was lying. I have gone to bed that night and woke up and everybody has shared this TikTok video. I have got in contact with Andrew who took it and now everyone is keeping me updated on how many views it has had."
And the view count at the time of publication was approaching 70,000.
