MUMBAI: The Supreme Court on Monday said it would hear on June 1 an urgent contempt of court petition filed by an officer of the BMC against the civic chief Iqbal Chahal for allegedly flouting an order of the Apex court passed in April over appointment of civic law officer.
Sanghamitra Sandansing, who says she is presently working as Joint law officer and is senior most candidate for post of law officer of BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) filed the contempt petition. When her lawyer mentioned it citing urgency, the Supreme Court bench of Justices BR Gavai and Hima Kohli listed it for Wednesday.
