Brighton make their move as Nottingham Forest's Steve Cooper and Swansea City's Russell Martin remain in frame

Bodo/Glimt coach Kjetil Knutsen reportedly remains the front-runner to take over from Graham Potter at Brighton and Hove Albion, but Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi is also now firmly in the frame.

That's according to the Daily Telegraph, who claim both candidates are being considered to take over at the Amex Stadium, following Potter's decision to replace Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea towards the end of last week.

Russell Martin and Steve Cooper have also been mentioned as possible options with the bookies, with both men seeing their odds shorten over the weekend.

However, reports suggest neither are currently under consideration, and there's currently no suggestion that an approach for either coach is currently in the works.

Martin perhaps hasn't enjoyed the best of starts to the current season with the Swans, but does hold a similar footballing philosophy to Potter.

There's been a suggestion the club have admired the job done by Ange Postecoglou at Celtic, but the Australian is currently uninterested in leaving Glasgow.

Knutsen, 53, remains the favourite, with Albion believed to impressed by his record with Bodo, whom he's taken into the Europa League.

He has also been named Norway's manager of the year for the last three years.

De Zerbi is currently out of work, having recently managed Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, and reports in Italy have suggested talks between the two parties are set to start early this week.

Albion have some time to make their decision, with the postponement of their clash with Crystal Palace and the upcoming international break, meaning they won't be back in Premier League action until October 1.
