Brighton injury news and predicted XI ahead of Leeds United clash

Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has hinted Tariq Lamptey could be an injury doubt as his side prepare to travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United on Saturday.

Lamptey was replaced early on during Brighton's 4-0 win over West Ham United, although De Zerbi initially claimed his injury was only a 'small' issue.

De Zerbi revealed in his pre-match press conference on Friday that there is still a level of uncertainty regarding Lamptey's fitness. However, he did provide positive updates on Solly March and Levi Colwill.

"Solly March and Levi Colwill are on the list [for the game]. Tariq [Lamptey] I don't know," De Zerbi said. "We have to see. Colwill [may be] in the squad. I want to see him this morning. Last week he was with the under-21s. I was in the stadium to watch him."

March missed Brighton's 1-0 victory over Stoke City in the FA Cup fifth round but was deemed fit to start against the Hammers. Colwill has not featured for the Seagulls since they defeated Liverpool 3-0 at the Amex in January, but played 45 minutes for the under-21s last weekend.

Elsewhere, Jacob Moder has returned to training after almost a year on the sidelines but is still recovering from his ACL injury. Adam Lallana is not expected to return this season after sustaining a hamstring injury in Albion's 2-2 draw at Leicester City in January.

Jason Steele was handed his first Premier League start of the season at the expense of Robert Sanchez, who was surprisingly dropped to the bench. Steele was not forced into a single save by West Ham as Brighton registered their heaviest league win of the season.

Steele could keep his place between the sticks, especially considering De Zerbi's comments in his latest press conference.

The Brighton boss said: "One of the best relationships I have in the dressing room is with Sanchez. At this moment, though, I prefer Jason - only for our style. Robert can improve this part [of his game]. I have been clear and honest.”

Tariq Lamptey was substituted early on due to injury and is a doubt ahead of the game. If he is deemed unable to play then Joel Veltman is likely to come in as a straight swap for the Ghana international.

Brighton have faced no further injury problems since last weekend, and should field a similar side to the one which comfortably disposed of West Ham last time out.

Brighton predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Steele; Veltman, Webster, Dunk, Estupinan; Gross, Caicedo; March, Mac Allister, Mitoma; Ferguson.
