Motherwell have snapped up Irish defender James Furling from Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 20-year-old full-back has signed on loan until the end of the season after becoming Motherwell's fifth signing of the January window.
The announcement came just moments after the Steelmen announced the arrival of former Celtic forward Jack Aitchison.
Dubliner Furlong made 16 appearances for Brighton’s under 21s this season before making the switch north.
Boss Steven Hammell said: “James is a young player who came highly recommended to us from Brighton.
“It’s a good opportunity for him and is seen as a potential first-team player for Brighton so we feel this is a great move for both parties.”
