Bridgerton Season two has finally dropped on Netflix and fans are delighted.
The second instalment of the period drama features a brand new family, and plenty of more romance.
Bridgerton is based on Julia Quinn's novels set in the competitive world of Regency era London's ton during the season, when debutantes are presented at court.
Season one was released on Christmas Day 2020 and quickly became the most watched show on Netflix of all time.
It's since been overtaken by South Korean series Squid Game, but that doesn't mean fans weren't eagerly awaiting season two.
Back in April last year it was announced that Charithra Chandran had been cast as Edwina Sharma for the second instalment.
She plays the sister of Simone Ashley's Kate Sharma, and sees set to cause a stir amongst the debutantes.
But who is Charithra Chandran? And where have you seen her before?
What else has Charithra Chandran starred in prior to Bridgerton?
Charithra is a 25-year-old actress and is relatively new to the industry, but has now bagged a role on one of the biggest shows.
Prior to filming for Bridgerton, Charithra enjoyed a main part in spy thriller programme Alex Rider playing Sabina Pleasance in the second season.
She's also starred a short film called The Talents as Bekkie, and also played the role of Cherry in Class S.
It's safe to say that Bridgerton is her breakthrough role and is no doubt going to catapult her to major success.
Who does Charithra Chandran play in Bridgerton season 2?
Charithra plays the role of Edwina Sharma in the brand new season of Bridgerton.
The second instalment of the hit Netflix show introduces a new family, the Sharmas, who arrive in London from India.
This marks a departure from the books the series is based on, in which they are the Sheffields.
Edwina is the young woman who immediately catches the attention of Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), while Sex Education actress Simone Ashley plays her sister Kate, who is set against the match.
Charithra recently said that she is “so proud” to represent the 50,000 South Asian people who were living in the UK at the time when the period drama is set.
She told PA news agency: “We have to remember that actually, in 1814, which is when the second season is set, there were 50,000 South Asians in the country, so we were here and of course we weren’t members of the ton, but we were in the country.
“Obviously Bridgerton is in a fantasy world, and it’s just a carnival of joy and we don’t address England’s difficult past with India, but we are so intrinsically linked, the two countries.
“I think it’s really wonderful that you’re not only representing those 50,000 South Asians that were there in 1814, but you’re representing that link that these two countries have and you’re representing all the South Asians in the UK right now, making sure that they can feel seen, that they’re important in this country and Simone and I are so proud to do that," she added.
Where was Charithra Chandran born and what languages does she speak?

Upon returning to the UK, Charithra went to boarding school from the ages of six to eleven before settling down with her family in Oxford for her teenage years.
She completed sixth form at Oxford High School and then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, politics and economics from New College, Oxford in 2019.
Charithra participated in a number of productions during her time at university and joined the National Youth Theatre.
She worked part-time for the New Policy Institute after taking a gap year, during which she did drama as a hobby before deciding to make it her career.
