Bridgerton casts trio of heartthrobs for third season of raunchy Netflix show

Netflix revealed three heartthrobs have been added to the cast of the third season of Bridgerton.

The next series will focus on Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan ) - who viewers discovered in previous seasons is also Lady Whistledown.

Viewers have been fanning themselves after watching the endless saucy scenes from the first two seasons, so we suspect the third will be no different.

Three new people have been added to the show, which has started filming in London.

James Phoon, who fans might know from Wreck, will take on the role of Harry Dankworth.

Stay Close actor Daniel Francis will embody Marcus Anderson, who is a 'charismatic presence who lights up any room he enters'.

And lastly, The Crown's very own Sam Phillips will be playing Lord Debling, a lord with unusual interests.

Netflix also released a video of the cast getting ready at their trailers as they announced season three's filming.

The cast members can be seen sat by their trailers or walking around set throwing up a 'two' sign before flipping their hands around and lifting three fingers up.

The clip began with Jonathan Bailey, who was the main focus in season two before fans got glimpses of Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Jessica Madsen (Cressida Cowper), and Harriet Cains (Philippa Featherington), Emma Naomi (Alice Mondrich), and more.

It then cuts to Luke opening a carriage door to show Nicola sitting inside.

" Bridgerton season 3 has officially begun filming," she says. "You coming in?"

"Let's go," Newton replies.

The Regency-era romance logged 193 million hours of viewing time worldwide, the most any English-language Netflix series has amassed in its first three days.

The second season saw the viscount become tangled in a love triangle with sisters Kate Sharma and Edwina Sharma, shifting the show’s focus away from Anthony’s younger sister Daphne Bridgerton and her courtship with the Duke of Hastings, played by Regé-Jean Page, who has since left the series.

Nicola announced the focus of season three back in May, revealing: "Like Lady Whistledown, I have been keeping a secret for quite some time and I can confirm to you all that season 3 is Colin and Penelope’s love story.”

She added: “I have kept that secret since two weeks into season 2. This is the first time I am saying it here.”
