Bridgend brewery to build solar farm following six-figure funding deal

A Bridgend brewery is set to build a solar farm following a six-figure funding deal from HSBC. The owners of Cold Black Label and Brecon Brewery have secured the financial backing to fund a four acre solar farm at its site which will produce over 1,000 MWh of energy a year.

This will be in addition to a 30KW solar system already on the roof of its Guardian House HQ in Brynmenyn Industrial Estate.

The energy produced from the solar farm will be used to offset the brewery’s carbon footprint and allow it to reach its net-zero carbon emissions as part of its wider sustainability strategy. The new solar farm will also connect to the national grid.
