'Bridezilla' slams 6 foot 8 wedding guest for 'stealing limelight' from groom

A woman has been dubbed a "bridezilla" for shaming a 6 foot 8 inches tall wedding guest who drew attention away from her groom. The 27-year-old claims her guests were so distracted by the man's great height that they ignored her 5'9 husband throughout their wedding day.

Fed up, the bride confronted her sister who invited the tall man as her plus one. Recalling the event, the sister said on Reddit: "I live five hours away from my sister, and as her maid-of-honour, I've been helping with a lot of wedding planning - all of it has been over FaceTime.

"I went to the wedding with my boyfriend, 20, of two years who happens to be 6'8. Neither my sister nor her now-husband had ever met him, but were fine with him coming to the wedding." The 19-year-old went on to explain how her sister "freaked out" as soon as she clocked eyes on her boyfriend - and proceeded to yell at her for 10 minutes.

"[She was] yelling about how my boyfriend was taller than her fiancée, who is 5’9, so we drew the attention off of them. I, of course, argued back," she added. But this wasn't the only bride's complaint as she also wasn't happy with the dress her sister was wearing, despite having picked it out for her.

The sister said: "She allowed all the bridesmaids to pick their own dresses as long as they stuck to her theme —light yellow — I wasn’t allowed to pick my dress, because she already chose a sleeveless pale yellow knee-length dress for me.

"Well, the dress came in and it was a little lighter than on the website, but that’s to be expected. I showed her a picture and she loved it. [But] she started yelling about how I wore white - the lights were very bright and made the dress look white."

Annoyed, the woman has taken to Reddit to gauge user's thoughts after her family started blaming her for the altercation, ordering her to apologise to the bride.

In response, one user said: "First of all, her bringing height into the situation is strange and might have made her fiancé/husband uncomfortable because why does it matter if your boyfriend is taller? Especially if he’s self-conscious about it.

"And she approved the dress.. You have every right to stand up for yourself. She decided to make a scene at her wedding. You are not there to be walked on. She picked the dress. So tell her go look at a mirror and argue at herself because that’s her own fault."

Another user added: "So your sister orders you a dress, you wear the dress, your sister yells at you for wearing the dress she ordered and then she yelled at your boyfriend because he decided to wear his tall legs that day?

"Then your family want you to apologise for getting yelled at for wearing the dress your sister ordered for you and because you happen to have a taller boyfriend?

"Not only are you not in the wrong, but I give props for that being one of the most insane reads of the week. I didn't want to but I just find it hilarious that your boyfriend got grief because he happens to be tall. She went full bridezilla, never go full bridezilla."

A third user said: "You were in an absolute no-win situation here, created by the bride. You wore the too light yellow dress she picked out and ordered and got yelled at.

"Had you dared to show up in any other dress, I guarantee she would have blown up at you for ruining her wedding by not wearing the dress she specifically picked out to match her theme and how her pictures will be ruined by the incohesive look.

"Since it was her who picked the dress and OK'ed it after you sent a picture, I'd say you picked the lesser of two evils."
