Bride left 'in tears' after less than half of guests show up to wedding reception

A bride was left heartbroken after nearly half of the people who had confirmed their attendance at her wedding reception failed to show up.

Posting a deflated video on TikTok, the newly-wed said 88 guests, including family, friends and work colleagues, had confirmed they would be attending her wedding reception to celebrate, but not even 40 turned up.

Gray, the disappointed bride, had even made a spreadsheet with all the attendees names on it, listing all RSVPs and booked a venue that was big enough for the big guest list.

As the Daily Star reports, Gray's big day was "ruined" as she looked around the empty room with only a few guests sitting at tables. In a video Gray posted on TikTok, she said: "88 people said yes and not even 40 of them showed up.

"Feeling like that kid that would always be left out right now." She looked at her watch and panned the camera across the empty hall, adding: "It was supposed to end in an hour.

"Picking up my own wedding early, it's not happening."

Gray mentioned in the captions that she and her groom, Nyx, were sat in the empty room crying as she had to end the reception early.

"Nyx's family immediately left after pictures, my mum didn't say a single word to me until my dad made her," she continued.

"I cancelled my dream send-off, cancelled dinner at my favourite place, the DJ felt so bad he made us use the photobooth I hadn't touched and took pictures together.

"Most of these people were my co-workers and they were so excited and were talking to me about it for months."

Viewers felt for Gray and some suggested to throw her an alternative wedding with the TikTok community. One wrote: "Let's have a wedding re-do! We are all coming!"

"Just have another wedding with us, we will bring the energy unlike these guys," a second shared and a third noted: "The guests look so bored like, these are not your people.

"You and your spouse deserve people who look happy for bid days like this!"
