It was meant to be the happiest day of Lauren Paine's life. But then the Covid pandemic struck and she and her partner Aled Morgan were forced to cancel the wedding they'd long been planning at their local church.
That was back in December 2020, after which the couple from Abercynon in Rhondda Cynon Taf had subsequent attempts at walking down the aisle also axed by the coronavirus outbreak. As a result Lauren said she turned to comfort eating to help get her through lockdown.
However, piling on the pounds meant that the dream dress she'd bought especially for her big day ended up no longer fitting her and, as a result, it was mothballed away and forgotten about in a corner of the attic. That is, until last summer when the 26-year-old teaching assistant came across it again during a clear-out and decided to make it her mission to fit back into it.
