Bride and groom branded 'tacky' for holding wedding at a winery - but banning alcohol

Weddings can take place in a variety of venues, from churches and castles to someone's garden and even a public park. Where you have your wedding usually depends on what sort of vista you want in the background of your wedding photos, but some couples will also opt to host their big day in a venue that allows for a specific activity to take place.

But one bride and groom have found themselves being criticised for their choice of wedding venue after they decided to invite their guests to a posh winery but banned anyone from being able to taste any of the local wines.

The couple served sparkling grape juice for their wedding toast and only offered guests tea, water, or lemonade for the rest of the reception, with one person in attendance saying the whole thing felt "awkward" and "tacky".
