A brick smashed through a windscreen and into the steering wheel of a car travelling near the M32 in Bristol. Avon and Somerset Police believe the brick was thrown or dropped from a pedestrian bridge over Newfoundland Way.
The incident took place at around 5.45pm on Wednesday, May 31 and investigating officers have now launched a public appeal for information. The victim, who was driving a white Mini Cooper under the bridge, was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The force are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened. They are also urging anyone with relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.

Police said in a public appeal: "We are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious, as the incident happened at rush hour, or if anyone driving has dashcam footage from moments before or after the incident. If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5223127461, or complete our online appeals form.
