Typically on First Take, we’d see Stephen A. Smith taking control of the set and talking over everyone. He’s normally yelling and screaming while trying to make his point. That’s just what he does — it’s how he is.
But Brian Windhorst may have had the greatest command of the First Take set that we have ever seen on Friday.
For a full two minutes, Windhorst was talking about what really seemed like a mundane trade between the Brooklyn Nets and the Utah Jazz for Royce O’Neale. They did it after news broke that Kevin Durant was traded and nobody noticed it.
Well, except for Windhorst, that is.
And for two whole minutes, he went on this rant just questioning why the Nets would make this really weird trade. Did he have an answer? Absolutely not.
But you couldn’t tell from the way this conversation was going. Everyone was on the edge of their seats.
Brian Windhorst just ran the First Take desk in circles. They were hanging on his every word for 2+ minutes 😂😂. Absolute masterclass. pic.twitter.com/Q1vn6mD9iz

Just incredible work from Windy, man. It did not come without consequences, though. This man is now the newest NBA meme:
