Brian Wilson, co-founder of the Beach Boys and one of the most influential writers and producers in pop history, has died aged 82

Brian Wilson.

Brian Wilson has died aged 82, his family has announced. Born in Inglewood, California on 20 June 1942, Wilson co-founded the Beach Boys and went on to become one of the most influential songwriters and producers in pop music history.

Writing on Instagram, his family posted: “We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away. We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world. Love & Mercy.”
