Brian McFadden has come under fire for using a derogatory and ableist slur that was spelt incorrectly as he ranted against anti-monarchists on Twitter.
The Boyzlife singer took to the social media platform to defend the Royal Family as anti-monarchy protesters outside the Houses of Parliament in London as the UK mourned the death of Queen Elizabeth. But during his rant the former Westlife crooner used the word "mongoloid" which is an offensive term to describe a person with Down Syndrome.
He said: "These mongoliods [sic] all look the same. F*cking creeps. Same numptys that glue themselves to shit." While some agreed with his remarks about the protesters, others pointed out his use of the term.

One said: ""Mongoloids" what an absolutely disgusting and disrespectful word to use! Please remove it. I hope you never used this knowing where it derived from. Disappointing Brian, I would have expected better from you!" While another person agreed, saying: "I agree! I don’t think @BrianMcFadden even know what the word “mongoloid” means. Pls google and find out! That is a very offensive, discriminating word to use! I am not even going to get involved about the protests but I am def want to get involved with the word used!"
Others pointed out his lack of spelling accuracy, saying: "You could at least learn how to spell that disgusting word properly.", while another person added "What a horrible word to use….it’s so wrong. The hurt you’ve caused families…and by the way apologies of or pleading ignorance, not accepted."
