Brian Kelley Releases Solo Single 'Kiss My Boots' Amid Drama

Kelley's new single 'Kiss My Boots' addresses emotions towards former bandmate Hubbard.

Brian Kelley, one half of the former country duo Florida Georgia Line, has released a new single titled 'Kiss My Boots,' which appears to contain pointed lyrics aimed at his former bandmate Tyler Hubbard. The song's lyrics suggest feelings of betrayal and resentment towards someone who wronged him, with references to having dirt thrown on his name and a defiant message delivered through the song.

In a press release statement, Kelley expressed that writing the song was a healing process for him, allowing him to release pent-up emotions and find closure. He emphasized the importance of processing emotions in one's own way and hoped that the song would resonate with others facing similar challenges, empowering them to reclaim their strength.

The music video for 'Kiss My Boots' features symbolic imagery, including hunting a snake often associated with deceit, and a belt with the word 'Florida,' representing Kelley's part of the former duo. The single is part of Kelley's upcoming album 'Tennessee Truth,' scheduled for release on May 10.

Hubbard, Kelley's former bandmate, responded to the situation by focusing on his own career and expressing well wishes for Kelley's solo endeavors. He mentioned that he was unaware of any rumored drama and reiterated his support for Kelley's decision to pursue a solo path.

Florida Georgia Line, formed in 2010 by Kelley and Hubbard, achieved significant success with multiple chart-topping singles and albums. Despite rumors of tension between the two, they officially performed their last show together in September 2022. While Hubbard indicated a sense of growing apart, he maintained respect for their shared history and the bond formed through years of collaboration.

The duo's separation followed a period of reported discord, including public disagreements and a canceled tour. Despite the challenges, both Kelley and Hubbard have expressed gratitude for the experiences and connections forged during their time as Florida Georgia Line.
