Brian Cox and Alan Cumming have teamed up for the brand new episode of carpool karaoke as the Scots legends discuss their careers and sing-a-long to the Spice Girls.
The Scots acting icons, whose successful careers have spanned across multiple decades, get behind the wheel in the Apple TV+ SERIES. "Hello I am Alan Cumming I come to you live from which Brian Cox finds himself in next to me," the X-Men actor introduces.
"Obviously, I'm Brian Cox," the Dundee-born actor adds. Cumming, 58, and Cox, 76, take viewers along for a very Scottish episode of Carpool Karaoke: The Series as they sing their own renditions of Caledonia and Ye Cannae Shove Yer Granny Aff A Bus.
During the episode, the duo - who have been pals since the early 1980s - sing along to Bay City Rollers and The Crystals as the Succession star reveals why he is jealous of his pals career.
“Now you see, there’s one thing I am really quite envious of what you’ve done,” Cox tells Cumming. “What would that be?” Cumming replies. “Well,” he begins, before eyeing his surroundings to ensure no one will overhear him, “Spice Girls.” To which his friend responds, “Seriously? You’re a Spice Girls fan?”
“I’m a closet Spice Girls fan,” Cox says before Cumming kicks off their sing-along with “Wannabe.”
After about 30 seconds of semi-off-key singing, the HBO star adds: “I’m so glad that’s over. That was one thing I was fearing of this whole fucking thing. I know fucking all about the Spice Girls.”
During one of his chats with Cox, The Traitors US host reveals he had a career detour in journalism with a stint as a sub-editor prior to attending drama school. Cumming admits that when he was 16, he wrote horoscopes for the Dundee Evening Telegraph.
"I just used to make things up, I'd say 'Oh mercury is in retrograde today, don't clean your cupboards'," he said before the pair burst into laughter.
