The latest Nottingham Forest headlines on Saturday, June 24.
Agents hold 'exploratory talks'
Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis is "highly likely" to leave the Reds this summer, it is claimed.
The 25-year-old arrived at the City Ground for a reported fee in the region of £15million last summer from Watford. He scored just two Premier League goals in 19 appearances during his debut season at the Reds.
Both of his goals for Steve Cooper's team came at home in matches against Aston Villa and Newcastle United.
And The Athletic claim that Dennis is set to leave the club this summer with "representatives" of the striker "holding exploratory talks with potential interested parties." It is also claimed that he is "comfortable" with leaving "if the right opportunity presents itself."
Forest 'chasing' former Chelsea goalkeeper transfer
Nottingham Forest are "chasing" the signature of former Chelsea and Everton goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, it is claimed.
The 36-year-old is available as a free agent after leaving the Toffees at the end of last season following the end of his contract. His previous clubs include Stoke City and AC Milan.
Begovic made the move to Goodison Park from Bournemouth in 2021, making just 10 appearances in two years.
And TalkSPORT claim that the Bosnian is attracting interest from Forest who are also in talks to sign Dean Henderson on a permanent deal this summer. Premier League new boys Luton Town are also claimed to be interested alongside two un-named Championship clubs.
'Laughable' Brennan Johnson transfer bid dismissed
Brennan Johnson has been told there is no point in leaving Nottingham Forest this summer unless it is for a top six club.
That is the view of former Reds striker Nigel Jemson, who believes Johnson is best served staying at Forest despite interest from plenty of Premier League sides.
Johnson, 21, scored eight league goals last season as the Reds stayed in the Premier League in their first season after promotion. Everton, West Ham and Aston Villa are said to be interested with Brentford seeing a £30m bid rejected.
Forest face major mid-season challenge
Nottingham Forest could be without a number of players for what might be a crucial period in the Premier League season.
The original plan saw the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to take place over the summer in the Ivory Coast, with the tournament scheduled for June and July. It would have been a repeat of the summer tournament that took place in Egypt in 2019.
The original schedule would have meant that the impact on Premier League teams would have been minimal with players taking part during the off season. However, the plans have now been changed due to the heavy floods expected in the west of Africa.
