Brennan Johnson receives brilliant Morgan Gibbs-White response to 'my team and city' message

Brennan Johnson has reacted to his missed penalty for Nottingham Forest against Brighton at the City Ground on Wednesday.

The Reds' top goalscorer this season stepped up to take an early spot-kick but saw it saved by Brighton keeper Jason Steele. The miss did not matter though as Forest won 3-1.

Steve Cooper's side are now out of the relegation zone after earning their first win since beating Leeds in February. Forest have five games left to secure their Premier League status for another season.

And Johnson has reacted to his penalty miss on Instagram with a heartfelt statement which also references his 100th game for the Reds. The 21-year-old has scored 29 goals for Forest since making his senior debut for the club in 2019.

He said: "I know when I miss, my team and city are behind me. Support was real today thank you. An honour to play 100 games for this club."

Teammate Morgan Gibbs-White responded to Johnson's post with a show of support. He commented on the post: "We got you fr (for real) bro," followed by two heart emojis.
