Brendan Rodgers' position at Leicester City is under increasing strain, with supporters staging protests against the Northern Irishman following Saturday's underwhelming display against Crystal Palace.
The Premier League strugglers slumped to a miserable goalless draw with the Eagles and remain firmly rooted in the relegation zone after 10 games. With just one win in that time - a 4-0 thumping of local rivals Nottingham Forest - pressure has continued to increase on former Liverpool and Celtic boss Rodgers.
Following the full-time whistle against Palace, a group of supporters inside the King Power Stadium unfurled a banner with a message to the ownership demanding a change in manager. It read: “Board - the time for action is now.”
In the meantime, club owner and chairman Aiyawatt 'Top' Srivaddhanaprabha did not look particularly happy. BT Sport cameras pictured the Thai businessman shaking his head at the end of the game.
It remains to be seen whether Rodgers’ role is under threat with the hierarchy at the King Power Stadium, but the malaise which has set in is unfortunately no stranger to the Northern Irishman.
Towards the end of the 2014/15 campaign - a season in which Rodgers’ then-Liverpool side slumped to sixth in the Premier League - Reds supporters staged protests against his position at the club.

During a home clash with Queens Park Rangers, a plane was flown over Anfield reading “Rodgers Out Rafa In”, calling for the manager to be sacked and replaced by former Reds boss Rafa Benitez.
Ultimately, Rodgers remained in charge at Liverpool over the following summer but lasted a further six months at the helm, with a 1-1 draw with Everton back in 2015 proving to be his final match as Reds boss.
Facing a new wave of opposition to his tenure at Leicester, the 49-year-old elected to remain tight-lipped after the drab draw with Palace. Speaking in his post-match press conference, Rodgers said: “If there is anger to vent, it will be to me because it can’t be to the owners. They’ve been amazing here.
“That’s something I take on board but it doesn’t shift my concentration on the job. I’m an experienced manager now. I’ll always do my very best and I can regulate all that pressure. There’s no drama with that. When we were winning the FA Cup, I had critics, so when we’re at the bottom, I’ll definitely have critics. So, you just look to your next game.”
Rodgers is under contract at Leicester until the summer of 2025 having replaced Claude Puel at the King Power Stadium three-and-a-half years ago. The Foxes’ next assignment is another crunch clash against Leeds United on home soil on Thursday evening.
