Brendan Rodgers seems to accept that Wesley Fofana could be sold this summer and has warned Leicester not to be 'afraid' of making such a big decision with Chelsea facing a race against time to rectify Kalidou Koulibaly's mistake.
The Blues' defensive woes were exposed for the first time this season at Elland Road in game week 3 as a rampant Leeds United hit three past a sluggish Chelsea backline who were prone to making many mistakes. Koulibaly was sent off late on which capped off a terrible outing for the 31-year-old who had a reality check of life in England after a strong start against Everton and Tottenham respectively. His red card now means that he will be missing for the Leicester fixture in game week 4
Therefore, with Trevoh Chalobah likely to be kept out of the fray ahead of a potential loan move away, all focus will be on trying to secure the Fofana transfer in time for the Frenchman to immediately face his former club. The player in question made his stance known with his omission from the Southampton loss. A decision that was made by manager Brendan Rodgers who made it bluntly clear that he cannot carry passengers who aren't with it mentally.

With all the transfer speculation going on, it's no wonder the 21-year-old is now suffering to concentrate on his current club with a Chelsea move now solely on his mind.
It is understood that he is frustrated with the fact that Leicester playing hardball over a fee with the second offer of around £60million plus add-ons deemed as fair by the World Cup hopeful.
The Athletic reported that Leicester are likely to soften their stance after the Saints loss as that defeat in itself showed that new recruits need to be made meaning a big money Fofana sale can help them in that quest to make meaningful signings before September 1.
And despite his 'not for sale' stance that Rodgers has held for long periods of time, the former Liverpool, Swansea and Reading manager has now seemingly accepted defeat in trying to convince his number 3 to stay one more season and has urged the higher-ups not to be 'afraid' of cashing in on a big money asset.
"The reality for a club like ours is you can’t be afraid to do that [sell] as long as it’s good business for the club, and if it’s good for the player it’s normally a win-win situation," he said in the embargoed part of his post-match press conference on Saturday via Leicestershire Live. "But that decision then will be ultimately down to the feeling of the club."
