Irish acting icon Brendan Gleeson has revealed he asked his son Domhnall for Paul Mescal’s number so he could text him his congratulations on his Oscars nod.
The Dubliner told how he was “very proud” of the Kildare native for his Best Actor nomination for his role in Aftersun. Brendan said: “I had to ask my son Domhnall for his number. I was very proud of him.”
Mescal told Variety how crazy it was to receive a text from Gleeson. The Normal People actor said: “He’s an idol of mine. He was just incredibly generous and was like, ‘We’re gonna make this a fun month.’ That was one of those crazy things.”
