Vladimir Putin is reportedly set to hold an emergency meeting of his security council amid Kremlin reports of fighting inside Russia near the Ukrainian border, which Ukraine has denied.
Russia today claimed it was seeking to “destroy” an alleged Ukrainian sabotage group that had broken across the northern border into Bryansk in Russia - but Ukraine claims this is a "deliberate provocation".
Russia's ultra-loyal TASS news agency claimed that law enforcement agencies were reporting a clash with Ukrainian saboteurs and said there were dead and wounded among the residents of the area.
