Ryan Mason has spoken out for the first time since being appointed as Tottenham Hotspur interim manager for the remainder of the season.
The decision to appoint Mason came after Cristian Stellini was sacked following the devastating 6-1 defeat against Newcastle United at St. James' Park on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs conceded five goals inside the opening 21 minutes as their hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League took a major blow. Stellini lasted just four games in charge before being relieved of his duties at the club, just a month after taking over from previous manager Antonio Conte.

After being appointed as interim boss for the remainder of the season, the 31-year-old has now spoken out publicly for the first time. Mason tweeted: "It's a privilege to manage this great football club.
"I'm ready for the challenge and know what it means to represent the club. I've never taken for granted the connection I have with our incredible fans and will work relentlessly with the players and staff to ensure that as a collective we fight for the badge at all times.
"Time to prepare and focus all of our energy into Thursday's game. COYS."
Tottenham have also confirmed the coaching staff that will support Mason after he replaced Stellini as interim manager until the end of the season. A statement from Tottenham Hotspur read: "Following the appointment of Ryan Mason as Acting Head Coach, we can now confirm Ryan's coaching staff.
"Ryan will be joined by our former Academy player and coach Matt Wells (Acting Assistant Head Coach) and current Academy coach Nigel Gibbs (Acting First Team Coach), alongside Perry Suckling (First Team Goalkeeping Coach) and Gianni Vio (Set Pieces Coach), who continue their existing roles," the statement added.
