Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank have welcomed their second child - a beautiful baby boy.
Eugenie gave birth nearly a week ago on Tuesday, May 30 to the 7lb 1oz boy named Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, she revealed on her Instagram account today.
She posted two sweet snaps of the newborn - one of him wearing a knitted blue-and-white hat, asleep in a Moses basket, and one of older son August tenderly stroking his brother's head.
She wrote: "Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank on 30th May 2023 at 8.49 weighing 7.1lbs.
"He is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald. Augie is loving being a big brother already."
The new arrival is 13th in line to the throne moving the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward down to 14th place. He is a third grandchild for Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
The newborn is also a 13th great-grandchild of the late Queen - and is the first one to be born since her death last September. He will not receive a title or HRH status as he is not a grandchild of the current monarch King Charles, who is his great uncle.
Eugenie, 33, who was heavily pregnant as she attended the Coronation on May 6 revealed her pregnancy in January both on Instagram and with an announcement from Buckingham Palace.
The palace said in a statement: "Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are pleased to announce they are expecting their second child this summer.
"The family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother."
On her personal Instagram account, Eugenie shared a photo of young son August kissing her bump.
In the photograph, taken by Jack, Eugenie, dressed in a woolly hat, beamed as August, in a burgundy winter hat, matching trousers and wellies, embraces her and kisses her bump, as they stand next to a fence in a leaf-strewn field.
She wrote: "We're so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer."
Eugenie's first born August Philip Hawke Brooksbank arrived at the exclusive Portland Hospital in central London on February 9, 2021.
He made an appearance at the Platinum Jubilee pageant celebrations last year wearing a union flag jumper as Eugenie bounced him up and down on her knee as they sat in the royal box.
His name pays tribute to his late great-grandfather Prince Philip, who died just weeks after Eugenie welcomed her son.
In a documentary in September 2021, Eugenie revealed August got to meet Philip shortly before he passed away.
Holding back the tears, Eugenie explained: "We named August, August Philip because grandpa has been such a huge, inspiring character in my life.
"I brought little August to come and meet him and told him that we had named him after him and it was such a lovely moment."
Eugenie and husband Jack tied the knot back in 2018 in a grand wedding at Windsor Castle - just months after the nuptials of her cousin Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Guests at the wedding included the late Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales and celebrities including Robbie Williams and Ellie Goulding.
Jack was educated at Stowe private school in Buckinghamshire and went straight into a career in hospitality.
He worked at London nightspots Mahiki and Peyote, before landing a job at Chelsea’s Tonteria with the help of Guy Pelly - businessman and close personal friend of Princes William and Harry.
He's also been the European brand director of Casamigos Tequila, which is owned by Hollywood actor George Clooney - but now splits his time between the UK and Portugal.
