Nottingham Forest confirm goalkeeper transfer exit on loan

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Ethan Horvath has joined Championship side Luton Town on a season-long loan.

His departure forms part of what will be a major shake-up of the goalkeeping department at the City Ground. The Reds are poised to confirm the signing of Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United, with Brice Samba in line to return to France, likely with Lens.

Henderson will be Steve Cooper's first choice, with Horvath keen to get regular games to stake his claim for a place in the USA's World Cup squad, hence his move to Kenilworth Road.

Wales keeper Wayne Hennessey will reportedly replace Horvath as the Reds' number two. Horvath, 27, joined Forest on a free transfer from Club Brugge a year ago. He has played 11 times for the Reds and overcame a nightmare Championship debut against Middlesbrough to briefly become the club's first choice 'keeper after Samba was sent off against Stoke City.

However, after a stint on international duty, he was replaced in goal after arriving back with little recovery time. His final appearance of the season came in the play-off final when he replaced an injured Samba for the final few minutes.

Is this the right move for Horvath? Have your say in the comments section below
