Mikel Arteta delivers Bukayo Saka Arsenal fitness update ahead of Liverpool clash

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka is fit and available for next weekend's clash against Liverpool.

Saka has established himself as one of the best player in the Premier League this season, scoring 12 goals and providing a further ten assists to help his side build up an eight-point gap at the top of the standings. However, the Hale End academy graduate was unable to start last weekend's 4-1 victory over Leeds United after feeling under the weather prior to kickoff.

The 21-year-old did come off the bench in the second half and Arteta has now revealed that the youngster is ready to be called upon from the start of Sunday's match. When asked if Saka is available for the trip to Merseyside, the Spaniard simply replied by saying: "Yeah he is."

The Gunners have struggled at Anfield in recent years, failing to win away to Liverpool in the league since 2012. However, this is arguably the best time to play the Reds considering they have lost three of their last four outings across all competitions whilst sitting eighth in the current Premier League standings.

Arsenal currently sit eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City going into the final two months of the season, albeit the Citizens do have a game in hand on their title rivals.
