Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he has spoken with Levi Colwill about his role in the squad at Chelsea on Thursday.
Colwill is the subject of plenty of interest from elsewhere in the Premier League, including Liverpool, football.london understands, with the Reds once again enquiring about the defender this week. However, Chelsea's stance on Colwill remains the same: he is not for sale.
The 20-year-old is currently representing England Under-21s in the European Championships. The young Three Lions will take on Spain on Saturday evening in the final of the competition, with Chelsea winger Noni Madueke also playing alongside Colwill.
"We spoke yesterday with Levi and Noni. One I know, Noni, from Tottenham, in the Under-18s. Of course Levi I know," Pochettino said in his first press conference as Chelsea head coach.
"I wish them all the best tomorrow. It's true that, for me, it's difficult because they're in Spain. We wish them all the best. We're waiting for them to be in the team. I think they will fly to America and join us."
Liverpool are looking for any sort of encouragement in terms of striking a deal for Colwill. Chelsea, though, are determined to ensure the Cobham graduate signs a new long-term deal at Stamford Bridge in the coming months.

Pochettino has already met a lot of his new players at Cobham this week in his first few days in his head coach role. The Argentine was asked about what his ambitions at Stamford Bridge are and he simply explained that winning is the reason why he has taken the job.
He said: "My aim is to win. If you are at a club like Chelsea, you can't only talk about doing a nice job and playing well. Of course, we need to win."
