A man involved in a car crash but who had 'no visible injuries' died just hours later police have said. The tragedy followed a collision in Longsight last night (Monday).
A silver Vauxhall Insignia had stopped at a red traffic light on Dickenson Road, at the junction with Birch Hall Lane, which was on its left, at around 9.04pm when a silver Ford Mondeo hit the back of it, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
The airbags were deployed in the Mondeo however "there were no visible injuries reported by either party." Both drivers swapped details and returned home the force said.

However, just a few hours later the driver of the Mondeo was found to have died. Specialist officers are now supporting the family of the man who has not been named.
An investigation is now underway. In a statement issued GMP said: "The Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
"They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage, from the area in the moments leading up to the collision."
