Madonna sent home from hospital but is still under medical care

Madonna has reportedly been discharged from hospital and sent back to her New York City home.

The Queen of Pop travelled by private ambulance to her residence in the city.

“She’s in the clear,” a source told CNN.

Fans across the world have been worried for the 64-year-old's health health since it was revealed she was hospitalised over the weekend.

Madonna was found unconscious while suffering from a "serious bacterial infection".

She was rushed to hospital and hooked up to a ventilator and intubated so a breathing tube was passed down her throat and into her lungs.

The worrying news - which comes just two weeks before the singer was due to starty her Celebration tour - was shared by her manager Guy Oseary on Instagram.

"On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several-day stay in the ICU," Oseary wrote in a statement.

"Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour."

Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon remained by the Material Girl singer's side throughout the ordeal

Her family were said to be struggling after the "frightening and scary experience" of finding her unconscious and unresponsive.

A body language expert exclusively told us Madonna appeared to be suffering from "exhaustion" in the photos taken before her hospitalisation.

Her worried family kept her failing health a secret from fans for five days.

"For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst," the relative said to the Daily Mail.

"That is why it was kept a secret since Saturday... Everyone believed that we may lose her and that has been the reality of the situation."

Meanwhile, Madonna's friends and family were banned from discussing work at her bedside, according to a family source.

They have been strictly warned against discussing the Celebration tour or anything work related so Madonna can rest.

"Everything, including this tour, is taking a backseat right now and no one is allowed to even mention anything work related around her because she will lose her s***," the relative revealed.

"She will put her career and her fame before her health until the day she is dead."

Madonna's close friend, comedian Rosie O'Donnell gave the first reassurance that the singer was OK this morning.

"She's feeling good #madonna #love," she wrote underneath a snap of the pair performing a cobra yoga pose on her former TV show.
