Shoppers are still trapped inside a raging inferno after a shopping centre went up in flames in Indonesia.
The fire broke out this afternoon at the Trans Studio Makassar mall in Makassar City, South Sulawesi.
Shocking footage from the scene showed locals rushing to escape the flames as they ripped through the stores.
One clip shows the fireraging on one of the upper levels as molten embers drop down on the courtyard below.
It was reported that the blaze was caused by a ride that had just opened.
There has been no word on the number of casualties, but video and images show several people collapsed on the floor as others try to tend to their injuries.
Speaking to local media, the head of the Makassar Fire Department confirmed that fire engines were en route.
It has been claimed that a crowd of shoppers remain trapped inside, including "many children", the Makassar Tribune reported.
Indonesian outlet Liputan6 said that the first sign of the inferno was black smoke that billowed through the mall.
Shortly after, a fire then flared up, causing shop workers and customers to flee.
In the panic, visitors were also seen racing into the basement car park in a desperate attempt to move their vehicles to safety.
Another video showed a group of customers on the roof of the building as the fire department hoisted its ladders to rescue them.
One shopper called Zul, spoke to the Fajar website, saying that the fire began on the first floor near the cinema/
"My guess is that because my position is on the first floor, the smoke is coming from the photo spot area. Not from the dining area or tenants," said Zul.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

It comes just hours after a huge explosion at a fireworks warehouse in Southern India wiped out hundreds of fish in a nearby lake.
Footage shows the immense blast which resulted in a fire earlier this week, luckily no one was injured. However, the powerful blast caused significant property damage to many nearby buildings and killed many aquatic animals in Bommanahalli Lake.
“People were soon moved to safety and fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames,” a local source said.
“After an effort of more than two hours, the flames could be put out, although additional fire tenders were required in this operation.”
