FA Cup quarter-final draw in full as Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City learn fate

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City have all learned their fate in the FA Cup after their quarter-final ties were confirmed.

England manager Gareth Southgate was in charge of the draw and while doing so, reaffirmed the FA's support for war victims in Ukraine.

The headline tie sees Chelsea pitted against Middlesbrough away from home, who knocked Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United out in the previous rounds.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will travel to face either Nottingham Forest or Huddersfield Town and City have been handed Southampton on home soil.

And Crystal Palace are set to host the winning on Monday's clash between Premier League strugglers Everton and non-league Boreham Wood.

Last year's runners up, Chelsea, edged past Luton Town with a 3-2 victory on Wednesday.

The world champions had to come from behind twice and Kenilworth Road but Romelu Lukaku came up with a late winning goal.

On the same night, Liverpool advanced after a 2-1 win at home to Norwich City.

Takumi Minamino scored twice before Lukas Rupp forced a tense finish with a cracking consolation strike.

And Southampton secured a place in the last eight by beating West Ham 3-1 at St Mary's.

But the shock of the fifth round came on Tuesday, as Middlesbrough secured a last-gasp victory over Tottenham.

Chris Wilder's men needed extra-time to down Antonio Conte and co, as 19-year-old substitute Josh Coburn's winner sent the Riverside wild.

Meanwhile, Manchester City got past Peterborough by winning 2-0 and Palace reached the quarter-finals for the first time since 2018.

While Forest host Huddersfield in an all-Championship bout on Monday, Boreham Wood travel to Goodison Park with the hope of continuing their FA Cup fairytale against Everton.

However, manager Luke Garrard appears to be playing some reverse psychology - at least he was when the draw was made after they beat Bournemouth.

"Can we [win against Everton?] No," Gerrard told Sky Sports News. "I've had a load of league managers text me over the last few days saying 'make sure you get the brick layers out to build you a brick wall in the goal'."

"Listen, it's going to be tough. For me, it's going to be about going there, I've got Z-cars playing in my ear now and the hair on the back of my neck stood up.

"To have that infant of 40,000, going to Everton, it's a massive, massive club. I believe they've won the cup five times."
