Eoin Morgan has been ruled out of the remaining two T20 internationals against West Indies with a quad muscle injury.
The England captain, 35, suffered a low-grade quadriceps injury in the warm up before the third match of five on Wednesday.
Follow up testing revealed he had sustained a right thigh-muscle injury which, whilst “relatively minor”, will prevent him playing any further games on this tour.
In Morgan’s absence vice captain Moeen Ali led the team as they slipped to a 20-run defeat against West Indies to go 2-1 down in the series.
England confirmed that Moeen will again lead the team again on Saturday and Sunday as they seek to avoid only a second series defeat in their last 12.

Morgan’s leadership and nous will be missed in the circumstances but he will stay on to advise from the dugout in what is England’s first step on their journey to this autumn’s T20 World Cup in Australia.
England also allayed fears Liam Livingstone had suffered a relapse in his battle with oesophagitis after the all rounder appeared to throw up while batting.
An assessment by the team doctor put it down to a protein shake consumed just before he went out.
