Emma Raducanu, Serena Williams and Andy Murray learn US Open opponents as draw made

British starlet Emma Raducanu will kick off her defence of the U.S. Open crown against Alize Cornet following Thursday's main draw.

Raducanu, 19, blazed to a shock title win in her maiden outing at Flushing Meadows last year and returns to New York amid high expectations. Not as much is expected of three-time major-winner Andy Murray, who will take on Francisco Cerundolo in his opening matchup.

The 2022 U.S. Open will also be Serena Williams' farewell tournament after confirming earlier in August that she's set to retire. The 23-time Grand Slam champion will face Danka Kovinic first as she looks to tie Margaret Court's all-time record in major titles.
