This offseason, the Miami Dolphins made it a priority to re-sign their running back room from the 2022 season, and they did so, bringing back all four veterans.
Raheem Mostert, who received a bulk of the touches in 2022, signed a two-year deal worth $5.6 million that includes an additional $2 million in incentives. The33rdTeam’s Ari Meirov recently released the details of Mostert’s incentives.
The 31-year-old can earn $500,000 for reaching 600 yards receiving and rushing combined. He can earn another $500,000 for reaching 900 yards receiving and rushing combined.
Mostert has only surpassed 600 yards three times, and 900 yards twice. Last year, his first in Miami, he totaled a career-high 1,093 yards of offense while finding the end zone five times.
The former Boilermaker can make another $1 million in 2024 by achieving those same feats.
Mostert should be able to achieve those marks as long as he stays healthy, but that’s been a bit of an issue in his career, as he’s only appeared in 16 games twice, including last year. On top of that, the arrival of dynamic rookie back De’Von Achane could limit Mostert’s usage in the passing game, so the veteran may have to do some more damage on the ground to earn his extra money.
