Breaking down Packers’ final injury report of Week 5 vs. Raiders

The Green Bay Packers listed running back Aaron Jones, cornerback Jaire Alexander, cornerback Eric Stokes and safety Rudy Ford as questionable and ruled out linebacker De’Vondre Campbell and safety Zayne Anderson on the final injury report before Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

How will the injury situation affect Monday night’s showdown?

Here’s an in-depth breakdown of the Packers’ final injury report of Week 5:

Questionable (4)

RB Aaron Jones (hamstring): The Packers are hoping to get him back in something close to a full-time capacity, but considering he’s still on the final injury report — and Christian Watson isn’t — suggests he’s not yet over the hamstring injury and might still be on a snap count on Monday night.

CB Jaire Alexander (back): He didn’t sound like missing Monday night’s matchup with Davante Adams was an option. Alexander has missed two straight games but did practice in a limited capacity this week.

S Rudy Ford (oblique): The Packers’ starting safety is dealing with an oblique injury that kept him out of Thursday’s practice. Jonathan Owens would be the likely backup option.

CB Eric Stokes (foot): He’s not yet on the 53-man roster but practicing all week was a good start for Stokes, who hasn’t played since Week 9 of last year. While on the injury report, the Packers would need to activate him to the roster before he can play.

LB De’Vondre Campbell (ankle): The veteran linebacker didn’t practice all week and will miss a second straight contest. Isaiah McDuffie and Eric Wilson will get snaps next to Quay Walker at inside linebacker.

S Zayne Anderson (hamstring): He was inactive in Week 1 and will now miss a fourth straight game. The Packers should have put him on injured reserve.

No playing time designation (6)

LG Elgton Jenkins (knee): Incredibly, Jenkins will return after missing only two games with an MCL injury. The importance of his return at left guard can’t be overstated.

RG Jon Runyan Jr. (ankle/groin): He’s going to battle through the injury for a second straight week.

TE Luke Musgrave (concussion): The rookie tight end cleared concussion protocol on Thursday. Jordan Love should have all his weapons at the skill positions available on Monday night.

RT Zach Tom (knee): He practiced all week after playing last week, so the knee injury suffered late in Week 3 looks increasingly minor.

CB Carrington Valentine (biceps): Like Tom, he played through the issue last week and practiced all week (fully), suggesting he’ll be off the injury report completely by next week.

WR Christian Watson (hamstring): All systems go for Watson after he played on a snap count last week. He was limited at practice all week.

Raiders injury report

Former Packers receiver Davante Adams practiced on Saturday and is questionable to play with a shoulder injury. Does anyone really think he won’t play against his old team? The Raiders have injuries in the secondary: cornerback Nate Hobbs is out, and cornerbacks Jakorian Bennett and David Long are both questionable to play.
