The Green Bay Packers ruled out cornerback Jaire Alexander, defensive back Javon Bullard and tight end Luke Musgrave and listed cornerback Corey Ballentine as questionable on the final injury report before facing the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15.
How will the injury situation affect Sunday night’s showdown?
Here’s an in-depth breakdown of the Packers’ final injury report ahead of Week 15:
Out (3)
CB Jaire Alexander (knee): A fourth straight missed game for Alexander, who practiced in full on Wednesday and Thursday but was held out of Friday’s practice after the Packers reviewed practice from the previous two days. He wasn’t physically ready to play, per coach Matt LaFleur. Alexander’s return from a knee injury will have to wait at least another week. Since Week 8, Alexander — who will miss his seventh game this season — has played 10 snaps.
DB Javon Bullard (ankle): The rookie defensive back didn’t practice all week and will miss his first game of the 2024 season. He had been serving primarily as the slot cornerback, so not having him and Jaire Alexander will likely force the Packers to use Keisean Nixon inside and play Carrington Valentine and Eric Stokes on the perimeter against Jaxon Smith-Njigba, DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Buckle up.
TE Luke Musgrave (ankle): He was designated for return from injured reserve this week, and there’s no rush to get him back on the field until he’s physically ready. Musgrave got in limited practices all three days this week. It’s possible he could return to the 53-man roster next week before the Packers play the Saints.
Questionable (1)
CB Corey Ballentine (knee): He missed a game after injuring his knee on the opening kickoff of the Packers’ win over the Dolphins. He was limited on Wednesday and Thursday but a full participant on Friday, so a return is possible — and possibly needed, considering the injuries to Alexander and Bullard. The Packers could elevate a cornerback (Kalen King again?) from the practice squad if needed.
No status designation
The following players have no status designation and will be available to play on Sunday vs. the Seahawks: DL Kenny Clark, LB Edgerrin Cooper, WR Romeo Doubs, OL Travis Glover, OL Elgton Jenkins, LB Isaiah McDuffie, C Josh Myers, LT Rasheed Walker, DE Lukas Van Ness, S Evan Williams and DL Colby Wooden.
Cooper will return after missing three games with a hamstring injury. Doubs and Williams cleared concussion protocol and will play.
Seahawks injury report
The Seahawks ruled out cornerback Tre Brown, safety Jerrick Reed II, tight end Brady Russell, offensive tackle Stone Forsythe and safety K’Von Wallace and listed running back Kenneth Walker III and cornerback Artie Burns as doubtful. The only starter in the bunch is Walker, a dynamic running talent. If Walker can’t go, Zach Charbonnet — who produced over 190 total yards last week — would be the lead back again.
