Crystal Palace have announced the dismissal of head coach Patrick Vieira on Friday morning as the side look to turn their fortunes around after a poor start to 2023. The Eagles are without a win since the turn of the year, suddenly finding themselves in a potential relegation battle.
The dismal run has seen their points gap to the bottom three chipped away, with just three-points between them and 18th, spelling potential danger. It's that form which has seen Vieira lose his post after nearly two years at the helm, with the search for a new boss underway.
Chairman Steve Parish said in a statement on the club website: "It is with enormous regret that this difficult decision has been made. Ultimately, results in recent months have placed us in a precarious league position and we felt a change is necessary to give us the best chance of retaining Premier League status.
