Chelsea goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli has signed a three-year contract extension to remain at the club until the summer of 2026. The 30-year-old first joined the club in 2021 on a two-year deal and has been the Blues third choice goalkeeper behind Edouard Mendy.
The keeper has made just a single appearance for the west London side in last season's FA Cup Third Round clash with Chesterfield in which Chelsea came away 5-1 victors. The goalkeeper did pick up a Club World Cup medal after twice appearing on the bench in the competition however.
Bettinelli has described being with the west London club as a privilege and noted that the direction of the club played a role in his decision to extend his stay.

He said: "It is a privilege to be at a club like Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world and a couple of years ago when i signed I was delighted to be here, delighted to sign. To be here now and see the club going through this transition and seeing what we are developing, it is amazing to be a part of and I am buzzing to be here for an extra couple of years."
Bettinelli was one of a number of players to return to Cobham on Monday morning after some time off. He was joined by Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Trevoh Chalobah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, while N'Golo Kante was also in action having played in a friendly on Friday.
