An eight-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being hit by a Mercedes in south Manchester.
The smash happened on Moss Lane East in Rusholme at around 8.11pm last night (Wednesday). Police said a Mercedes GLC collided with the boy outside the Manchester Academy High School.
The youngster was taken to hospital with a serious head injury. He remains there in a serious but stable condition, police have said this morning.

The driver - a 29-year-old man - was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. He remains in custody for questioning.
Officers are now urging any witnesses of the crash to come forward. Last night, a stretch of the road was taped off as officers investigated at the scene.
Police Constable Simon Venguedasalon, of GMPs Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "A young boy was seriously injured last night and we need to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision. I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage, to please contact us at your earliest opportunity."
