Takehiro Tomiyasu was forced off through injury against Newcastle on Monday night.
The Japanese international has had his fair share of injuries since joining the Gunners last summer and his season could now be over after he left the field in agony in the first-half on Tyneside.
Tomiyasu appeared to be experiencing some pain in his hamstring, an injury that has caused him a relative amount of trouble this campaign. Cedric Soares came on at right-back to replace him, but the injury is a serious worry for Mikel Arteta as he looks to secure Champions League football at Arsenal for the first time in five years.

As Tottenham followed up their win over the Gunners in the North London derby by beating Burnley on Sunday, the Lilywhites have now temporarily climbed above the Gunners in the table. Nevertheless, it's still in Arsenal 's control as victories over Newcastle and then Everton on the final day will get the job done.
It looks as though they'll have to do it without Tomiyasu however, and with less than 45 minutes to go at St James' Park they have it all to do. It's a real test of the Gunners' character but fans will be hoping they can achieve their objective.
