The 999 phoneline has gone down for part of Greater Manchester in the early hours of this morning.
Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service acknowledged the fault in a tweet sent out at 3.45am. It said parts of Dobcross in Oldham "were experiencing issues" while attempting to dial 999.
GMFRS reassured the public it was working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. And it said anyone trying to call 999 from a landline should try using a mobile phone instead.
