A breakdown recovery van became stuck fast in sands on a beach - alongside the car the driver was trying to help. A group of people were seen trying to free both vehicles on Sunday morning.
Pictures from the scene showed the recovery driver with the group, all seemingly trying to dig out the AA van from the sand. Close by is a white Ford C-Max, which also appears to be stuck in the sand, along with a child's pink beach spade.
It happened on Porth Beach in Newquay at around 10am. It is the third time in two months that a car has become stuck on the same stretch, Cornwall Live reports.
One witness, Lisa Hammond, said it took a "good half an hour to 45 minutes" for the group to free both vehicles from the sand. She added that this is not the first time this has happened and said a sign "really needs to be put in place" on the beach.
She said: "It took about eight people to finally push them out of the sand. They pushed out the AA van first and then the car.
"It's time for a really big sign to be put in place because I do think a warning is needed as it's happening frequently. It's the second AA truck that's got stuck in the past month and the last one needed a tow truck to get it out."
Over the Easter holidays it took half a dozen people to free a blue Volkswagen Transporter van on Porth Beach, just a few days after video footage emerged of a Mazda car trapped in the same location.
In just one year more than a dozen cars were rescued from Great Western Beach in Newquay, which led to Cornwall Council looking at installing 'dead end' signs on the road leading to the sands.
